Powerlifting Workout
I used to be involved in Powerlifting, but I stopped. I stopped because I no longer had a training partner. It's odd, being the introvert that I am, that I need another person to motivate me.
My sticking point, the point at which I most needed someone to motivate me, seemed to be about 475 lbs. for the squat. I got scared that I would fall backwards, or forwards (I have done both in practice and competition). When the fear wouldn't allow me to lift anymore, I knew it was time to stop.
I bring this up because I saw a guy who also powerlifts at the gym today. I knew he recognized me and I noticed him sizing me up. I'm sure he got a good show. I haven't been to the gym regularly, and I struggled with 315 in the squat. Far from the good ole' days...
